has extensive
experience in working with the Washington Department of Ecology's
Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP). The VCP is in place to provide guidence
to site owners who wish to clean up sites but are not mandated to do so by
the Department of Ecology.
The VCP program allows site owners, operators, and consultants to receive Ecology advice at any stage of the site cleanup process. Consulting the Department of Ecology can lead to more efficient cleanups and it may make it easier to sell property or get bank loans.
If a site is properly cleaned up Ecology will issue a No Further Action (NFA) letter for the site. Ecology issues NFA letters if Ecology determines a release no longer poses a threat to human health or the environment. WES has worked with Ecology to gain NFA letters for numerous residential and commercial properties.
In addition, WES has submitted a number of reports documenting interim actions taken at large sites.
