Site Investigation - Lynden, Washington
staff performed a site investigation at a
commercial property in Lynden due to the following recognized
environmental conditions: a portion of the property was a service station
in the past; a portion of the property contained used drums and oil
filters; and there was an underground used oil tank onsite.
Whatcom Environmental
hand augered five soil borings at the site to characterize site soils. A
photoioization detector was used to evaluate the soils for organic vapors.
Soil samples were collected for laboratory analysis of total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH). It was determined that the shallow subsurface soils of
the property had not been adversely affected by petroleum
hydrocarbons.
