Landfill Release Investigation - Ferndale, Washington

is currently evaluating a 3.25 acre landfill for evidence of leachate release to shallow groundwater. Six temporary 1 inch diameter piezometers were installed around the perimeter of the landfill using direct-push technology. The piezometers have been sample twice to account for seasonal variations in leachate production. Groundwater analytical results indicate that there is no release from the landfill, and the landfill will most likely be closed under a fill and grade permit.
