LDAR is a program implemented by many companies to comply with environmental regulations for reducing the fugitive emissions of targeted Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) into the environment, mainly through the air. Components subject to LDAR involved with many different types of processes are periodically monitored with electronic detection equipment to detect leaks. If any leaks are found, they are required to be repaired within a predefined time period.
